Does the team have to swim continuously for 26.2 miles?
To qualify for the award one member of the team must be in the pool at all times during the event. Depending on ability a team member might swim 1,000 yards or 10 miles throughout the event.
Are there rules and safety requirements?
Safety first, all swimmers must be fit and healthy. If you haven't been well in the lead up to the event we recommend checking in with your doctor. All event rules and safety requirements can be found on Rules & Safety Guide page.
How many people can I have on my team?
Each team can have any number of swimmers up to maximum 12 to qualify for the fastest 26.2 miles award.
During the 12 hours do I have to bring my own food?
We will provide organic energy bars, fruit and other healthy snacks and drinks but you might want to bring your personal choice of nourishment just in case.
Is the donation to Every Mother Counts tax deductible?
Yes, donations are tax deductible. Every Mother Counts is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
I do not have a team - how do I join one?
If you don't have a team please contact us and we will discuss the options and times slots available for swimming with an existing team or on your own as part of an 'open' team lane.
Is there supervision throughout the event for participants under the age of 18?
It is the responsibility of the guardian(s) or team captain of participants under the age of 18 to ensure adequate supervision of participants under the age of 18.
